Peachtree Youth receive grant
The children at Peachtree Estates with the help of Adolescent Case Manager, Charice Harris, were awarded a $300.00 grant from the Youth As Resources of Summit County on Wednesday, December 8, 2004. The “Peachtree Santas” plan on using their grant to prepare gift baskets and other activities for a nursing home.
Since 1998, the Youth As Resources Program of Summit County (YAR) of Akron Children’s Hopsital has funded 148 grants for up to $500 to groups of young people to develop and carry-out projects that improve their communities. Peachtree Estates, a housing program of the Community Health Center, is a program focused on reuniting single parents and their children during the recovery process. Families may reside at Peachtree Estates for up to two years and participate in many services including outpatient treatment, case management, life skills training and much more.
