The Foundation provides pillars of support towards a healthy lifestyle

A FREE family event for all ages…

The 2008 Mile of Quarters will be held on October 24 & 25 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Bath. This year’s event is presented by OMNOVA Solutions Foundation, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Buckeye Community Health Plan, Wal-Mart and 98.1 WKDD.

On both Friday and Saturday, kids and their families can enjoy FREE activities including: Trick or Treat throughout the entire Barnes & Noble store, kids’ crafts, face painting, and much more!

A bookfair will be held during the event…pick up a voucher in the store on Oct. 24 & 25 and Barnes & Noble will donate a portion of your purchase to the Mile of Quarters!

Come in your costume and meet Clifford The Big Red Dog on the B & N story stage each day, along with story-time guest readers from the community.  Free photos will be available for all kids in attendance!  98.1 WKDD will also be on-site Friday morning with prizes, Lucky the Little Dog and much more!

What is the Mile of Quarters, anyway?!

The Mile of Quarters is an event benefiting the Community Health Center (CHC). At CHC, we believe that the best way to prevent addiction is to educate parents and kids about the effects of drug and alcohol abuse, and the Mile of Quarters promotes this important family issue. All donations received at this event stay in Summit County and are used to educate children about the effects of drug and alcohol abuse.

CHC has made a commitment to promote programs that provide families with the necessary information and skills for dealing with the problems associated with substance abuse. The proceeds from the Mile of Quarters will be used to supplement programs such as: Project PANDA, Adolescent Counseling Services and other prevention education in our community.
