Medically Assisted Opiate Treatment

The Community Health Center’s Medication Assisted Treatment For Opiate Addiction (MAT), is one of only nine regional methadone clinics in Ohio and offers methadone maintenance and detoxification treatment for opiate addiction. Methadone, the most widely used and studied treatment for opiate addiction, has been identified as the single most effective treatment for opiate addicts.

Methadone maintenance is a daily routine for many patients at the Community Health Center. For that reason, we are open 365 days a year. Methadone clinics are on the front lines providing education, medical services and risk reduction information.

Medically Assisted Opiate Treatment at the Community Health Center includes Methadone or Buprenorphine/Suboxone maintenance that is monitored by our doctor(s) and nursing staff. This type of treatment is appropriate for people who are addicted to Heroin or other opiates or those addicted to prescription medications. All patients must adhere to random urine drug screens, counseling sessions and other recovery activities deemed necessary by a licensed counselor.

Health services are provided to those who might not otherwise seek treatment of related disorders, such as Hepatitis B and C viruses. Medication-assisted treatment reduces the incidence of HIV/AIDS, as non-treated drug users often share contaminated needles.
