What is an HIV/AIDS Test like?

What if I am Positive?

Gate House exists to help you. If you test positive for HIV/AIDS, we are here to help you discover your options.

What if I am Negative?

First, we recommend retesting after 3 months to be sure that you are not HIV/AIDS Positive. Next, we welcome you into Gate House to take advantage of our health education programs, counseling, and case management services.

Is Gate House for me?

Gate House is for you if…
You are HIV/AIDS Positive or are at risk of infection
You are a minority
If you use injection drugs
If you have unprotected sexual relations
If you take part in any other high-risk behaviors

What can Gate House offer my family and me?

Case Management Services: Each life is unique…at Gate House your case manager will help you explore your options and find the best treatment plan for you and the people you love.

Substance Abuse Treatment:

Through your counselor at Gate House, you also have access to the substance abuse treatment programs at the Community Health Center. These programs can work hand-in-hand to give you the best care possible for your recovery.

Housing Referrals:

Gate House can help evaluate your housing needs for you and your family, and give you options that are available to you throughout the community.

Treatment Options: Gate House can help you at any stage of HIV/AIDS, whether with prevention education, or exploring new and innovative treatment options.

Legal Aide:

If you need assistance Violet’s Cupboard can provide you with free legal council.

Family Counseling:

Gate House is not only for you, but your family and loved ones. Group and family counseling is available free of charge to offer guidance and support in a time that may otherwise be very confusing.

Health Education:

Our health educator is available for confidential education and guidance on a wide spectrum of issues from actual testing to nutritional analysis.

Food Services:

If you are in need of food for you or your family, Gate House and Violet’s Cupboard will provide you with the essentials you need to provide for your family.
