Daytox Intensive Outpatient Program
The Daytox Intensive Outpatient Program is a structured, day treatment program designed to address the needs of adults with symptoms of mild to moderate substance abuse problems. Patients must be medically and psychiatrically stable and possess the ability to respond to and benefit from a day treatment program.
Daytox services include individual and group counseling, educational programming, stress management, crisis intervention, medical monitoring if needed, and coordinated services. Gender-specific services include Women's health issues, parenting concerns, relationship issues and trauma. The program takes into consideration issues of power and stigma women face in their addiction. The program strives to provide a safe place for women to explore issues of powerlessness and victimization which can be barriers to sobriety.
Patients sign a Statement of Understanding at the point of enrollment that specifies group attendance (three hours per session, three days per week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday for four weeks or longer), weekly individual sessions, 12-step meetings, and urine drug screen requirements. Continued care is provided at a decreasing level of intensity via referral to other Community Health Center Women's programs. Women who are determined unable to maintain abstinence in an intensive program may be transferred to a residential setting for continued care.
