Adult Counseling
The Adult Counseling Unit provides individual, group, and
family counseling designed to assist the patient and his or her family
in changing maladaptive behavioral patterns associated with substance
abuse. Following a comprehensive assessment, an individualized treatment
plan is developed to meet particular needs of the patient.
The individualized treatment plan outlines the various interventions available to the patient. The level of intervention is based upon the severity and duration of the substance use issues. All patients participate in the development of this plan and clear goals & expectations are presented.
Some of the intervention options include the following:
- Individual counseling
- Basic chemical dependency education/intervention groups offered both day and evening
- More intensive chemical dependency groups which focus on motivational enhancement techniques towards changing behavior.
- Relapse prevention type groups
- Anger management groups
- HOPE group for victims of domestic violence
- Family education/counseling
Additionally, patients have the opportunity to receive primary medical services, urine drug screening, case management services, housing referrals, and bus passes for those who qualify.
All CHC counselors have Master’s Degrees and are certified and/or licensed by the State of Ohio. CHC also employs State and Federal best-practices treatment models to insure that each patient receives the most current and holistic treatment. Although alcohol abuse and other drug abuse can cause devastating and life-changing results, we know that treatment works.
Aftercare programming is available for those patients who desire more advanced relapse prevention skills and ongoing support.
