Women's Recovery
Barriers of Treatment that women face include:
- Childcare responsibilities
- Loss of children
- Lack of sober support
- Lack of transportation
- Food and clothing issues
- Lack of affordable housing
- Lack of parenting skills
The Women's Recovery Program at the Community Health Center
was established to reduce and eliminate these barriers to treatment for
women. This group is open to all women, specifically those pregnant and
of child bearing age.
The Women's Recovery Program provides gender specific programming for
women, taking into account the fact that female patients live in a world
that denies them equal access to resources. Gender specific treatment
strives to empower women, help women understand how their gender role
impacts their lives and utilize a competency model.
The Women's Recovery Program is now offering Parenting Classes! These
classes are offered four times per year and cover ages 1 - 12. The scheduled
class dates are: June 3rd - July 1st, September 2nd - September 30th and
December 2nd – December 30th. Please contact Samantha
at (330) 379-2761 for program details and registry. Click here
