Sherman Place
Provides 3/4 way Transitional Housing for Recovering Women. The Sherman Place Supportive Housing project consists of one three story single family home located in a residential neighborhood of Akron, Ohio. The home offers transitional housing to four female adults recovering from drug or alcohol addiction. To be eligible to reside in the project residents must have a documented 60-day sobriety period. If employed, rent is calculated at 30% of income, or $200.00 per month, which ever is less.
Residents can reside in the project for no more than six months. Residents are provided private bedrooms and share common space. Common areas include kitchen, laundry, and living and green space. The project has been structured to be affordable and occupied by persons with incomes at or below 35% of the Area Median Income. Residents are assisted in finding employment within the first 30 days of residency. Frequently there is a waiting list which could be as long as six (6) months.
