FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Rally for Recovery and Advocacy Day kicks off the Ohio and the National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month 2003. This year's theme,"Join the Voices for Recovery: Celebrating Health" is a time to highlight the strides made in substance abuse treatment and to educate the public that addiction is a chronic, but treatable health problem that affects everyone.

Locally, the Community Health Center is supporting this worthwhile cause by sponsoring a bus to the statehouse in Columbus for people in recovery at the Community Health Center.

The Community Health Center, www.commhealthcenter.org, is a multi-county provider of alcohol and substance abuse treatment programs, along with primary healthcare for adults and adolescents. The Community Health Center is certified by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

The Rally for Recovery is on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at the Statehouse Plaza West, Columbus, Ohio. The rally will begin at 11:30a.m. and anyone who believes in the effectiveness of treatment programs is welcome to attend.

Sponsored by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS), the Ohio Citizen Advocates for Chemical Dependency Prevention and Treatment, Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities, Ohio Council of Behavioral Healthcare Providers, and the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
