GROWING HEALTHCARE PARTNERSHIP BRINGS
NATIONAL BUS TOUR TO AKRON ON APRIL 21
Akron, Ohio – The Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA), a growing national program to help patients access prescription medicines, will be in Akron on Friday, April 21 with the “Help is Here Express,” a traveling education center making its way across the country to raise awareness and educate the public about patient assistance programs.
The “Help is Here Express” is making a stop at the Community Health Center to offer help to anyone who is having trouble affording their prescription medicine. Since its launch last April, the national program -- sponsored by America’s pharmaceutical research companies working with doctors, pharmacists, health care providers and community groups -- has matched more than 1.8 million patients nationally and nearly 95,000 right here in Ohio.
The Community Health Center will also be hosting a FREE health fair in conjunction with the PPA Bus Tour with health screenings, program information, raffle drawing, lunch and much more.
Rx For Ohio: A Partnership for Prescription Assistance is the state chapter of PPA. Since its inception in 2003, Rx For Ohio has directed more than 703,000 Ohioans to programs that offer free or discounted medicine.
