FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Community Health Center announces Peachtree Estates II,
reuniting single parents and their children.

2003 marked Community Health Center's 3rd anniversary of working with homeless women and children. Since the CHC accepted its first homeless families into Peachtree Estates I Program we have been overwhelmed by the demand for this type of housing.

To help meet this need, the CHC received funding for Peachtree Estates II, housing that will provide for eight homeless families, to be opened in Spring of 2004. Peachtree Estates I and II will have the capacity to serve sixteen families, including 36 children and will provide safe, sober and secure housing to these families as they fight towards maintaining an alcohol and drug free lifestyle.

Due to budget constraints for the Peachtree Estates II Program, we are in need of general household goods (i.e. bedding, towels, dishes, etc.), gently used furniture, personal hygiene items and monetary donations. All monetary donations are, as they have been in the past, tax deductible and doubled due to matching grants.

The Community Health Center www.commhealthcenter.org is a multi-county provider of alcohol and substance abuse treatment programs, along with wrap-around services and housing programs. The Community Health Center is certified by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

Donations and contributions for this much needed program can be delivered or mailed to: 680 East Market Street, Suite 307, Akron, Ohio 44304. Questions should be addressed to Ms. Alicia Hoose, Director of Development, at 330-315-3718.
