Community Health Center of Akron announces new board officers

Laymon of Tallmadge, new leader of board

The Community Health Center Board of Directors announces the appointment of new board officers serving until 2009.

William Laymon was elected president. He is replacing Michael T. Callahan, who served as president since 2003. Mr. Laymon is retired from the Acme Corp. and has served on the CHC Board since 1993. Additionally, he is a past president of MADD of Summit County.

Diana Zaleski was elected vice president. Ms. Zaleski retired as the Summit County Clerk of Courts in 2006. She has served on the Board since 1998.

Theresa Carter was elected treasurer. Mrs. Carter is the executive director of OMNOVA Solutions Foundation and has served on the Board since 1998.

Robert Papa was elected secretary. Mr. Papa is vice president of government/not-for-profit at JP Morgan Chase Bank in Cleveland and he has served on the Board since 2001.

The Community Health Center (CHC) is a multi-county provider of alcohol and substance abuse treatment programs, along with wrap-around services and housing programs. In 2006, the organization served over 8,000 patients.
