RELEASE
Community Health Center one of three
awarded Help Me Grow funding
The Summit County Family and Children First Council announced
the program awards for the 2010 Help Me Grow Program. Community Health Center
(CHC) was one of three local organizations awarded a $400,000+ contract for the
coming year. "Help Me Grow is a very important program to the young children and
families we serve. We thank Tonya Block and the FCFC for putting their confidence
in Community Health Center to see Help Me Grow into the next year," commented Maureen
Keating, director of women & family services at CHC.
Help Me Grow is a state-wide program that provides services to children from birth
to age three and their parents. The program promotes children's growth and development
and supports families during these important early years of a child's life. The recent
state budget crisis forced FCFC to reduce and combine the number of agencies providing
the program.
CHC has been a provider for Help Me Grow since its inception, and will
expand its services immediately. "We take our responsibility to FCFC and
the Help Me Grow program very seriously and join Akron Children's Hospital
and Child Guidance and Family Solutions in maximizing this grant and our
resources to serve as many children and families as possible," added Ted
Ziegler, CEO of Community Health Center.
