Mental Health Association recognizes Bonnie Sharp

Bonnie Sharp, LISW, Director of Community Programs at the CHC, was presented with the Heart of Gold Award at the annual luncheon for the Mental Health Association of Summit County on October 6. The Heart of Gold Award is presented to an individual who gives far above the normal call of duty and possesses sincere feelings and be dedicated to improving the lives of those in need.

She was nominated for advocating and supporting the patients at the Community Health Center above and beyond the call of duty. As stated at the luncheon, “The dedication that Ms. Sharp shows for families entrusted to her care is at times beyond description. She is fearless in seeking and obtaining support such as food, social programming, educational programs and opportunities for growth for those for whom she is responsible.” This award is a testament to her dedication to the families she rehabilitates on a daily basis.

The Mental Health Association of Summit County is part of a network of professionals and volunteers committed to improving America’s mental health and seeking victory over mental illness. Bonnie was indeed chosen because of the positive effects she has on the emotional needs of CHC patients.
